Mission

The mission of the Duinboeren is a sustainable and well functioning rural buffer zone around the national park. 

This rural buffer zone is characterized by: 

- Agricultural/rural entrepreneurs that actively and with passion work on the sustainable maintenance of the agricultural activities and the valuable landscapes.

- Mainly extensive farming practices in landscapes with high cultural and natural values. - Sufficient room for and a balanced mix of various and economically healthy agricultural activities. 

The balanced functioning of the buffer today is threatened by pure economic driven activities, the increasing land claim of the governments and nature conservation institutions for infrastructure, building and non or low productive arable land. 

The mission of the Duinboeren is to remain and where required, restore the balanced functioning of the rural buffer zone. Knowledge and experience, gained in these processes is willingly and eagerly shared and propagated.
